The processes of urban rehabilitation have been going on for decades in many old European cities. The same is taking place in Zagreb – remodelling of individual urban units and blocks – however, without any overall ideas or plans for their rehabilitation and reconstruction. “Urban reconstruction” is still missing, but occasionally there are some proposals for rehabilitation as is the case here. This short review of the sociological aspects of proposals for the remodelling of a housing block next to Cvjetni Trg will be limited to the most important remarks and estimates, leaving out more detailed architectural and urban analyses.
